It wasn't exactly day, but it wasn't exactly night, either. It was that sort of time where it seems to be a bit of both. I think they call it "evening" in most cultures, but it's more of an after-evening thing. The name's Bill. Detective Bill. It doesn't pay much, but I do what I can to get through college. Which is why I also do photography on the side. I was planning a photo shoot when a red-head burst into my office. Jazz Fenton. I knew her, but not too well. I happened to know she had gotten the highest score in the history of the C.A.T. which was handy to know if you wanted someone smart. Imagine my suprise when she threw open the door, threw herself on my desk and started wailing out her heart and soul onto my planner. I decided to stop her before the rest of the organs followed.

"Okay, okay," Bill said, passing Jazz a hankerchief as I helped her into a seat. "what seems to be the problem?"
"You, you have to help me!" Jazz choked. "No one else will take the j-job!"
"I'll do what I can." Bill said, sitting at his desk with his elbows on the table, looking her in the eye. "Now, tell me what happened."
"I-It's my b-b-brother, Danny." she stammered, pulling a photo out of her purse and putting it on the desk. On it was a picture of a boy with black hair and blue eyes, looking around 14. "He dissapeared, and we can't find him anywhere!!" With that, she started sobbing into her hankerchief again. Bill picked up the picture and put a foot up on the desk as he looked at the picture and pondered.

Danny Fenton. I knew this kid too, but not personally. Their family was into ghosts, but he seemed to have missed the "out of the ordinary" gene. Nice, and normal. I glanced over at Jazz, who was still crying, then looked out of the window, where it had started to rain, and saw my own reflection. A tired young man, with hardened features and tired blue eyes. I ran one hand through my hair, and so did my reflection. Putting both feet on the ground, I turned to Jazz again, who was rummaging through her purse.

"I'll pay you, of course." she said, still sniffling.
Bill put up a hand. "Ma'am, money isn't the issue right now. We can talk about that later. Right now, we need to focus on my job as a detective, which is to find your brother."
"So you'll do it?"
"Naturally. it's my job. Now, I need you to help me by telling me anyone I could ask about his whereabouts." Bill said, flipping out his notebook.
"Oh, thank you, detective!"
"Please, call me Bill."

To be continued...
I think the story pretty much explains itself, but it's a DP fanfic.

Danny Phantom and all related characters are (c) Butch Hartman and Nickelodeon.

The guy in the picture is Detective Bill, who is (c) me.
